Ruffled Feathers
We have officially entered the season of feasting and celebration, where the focus shifts more and more towards festive gatherings and decorations, and our attention turns from treats to tinsel to.. turkey ðĶ
So with all the Holidays looming, the 'outside world' is not exactly the safest place for big, juicy birds to be in.
Not only for said turkeys (or chickens, ducks, pheasants, geese) - that goes for our beloved dodos, too! ð ðĶĪ
Soon the "Vagabond Strays" shelter will slowly become overcrowded with wide eyed, ruffled feathered, stray dodos. Because not unlike turkeys, dodos rather not end up as the tasty centerpiece of a traditional dinner (heck, we haven't forgotten what happened way back on Mauritius!), so typically they will come seek refuge with us until the fat bird hunt is over..
Oh, how much would we love to offer them a safe new home where they can stress-free enjoy the End-of-Year Holidays with a loving family! ð ðū ðĨ§
And with that in mind, we decided to organize a PRE-Adoption for these charming birds: meaning that we hope to have an address available for each dodo upon arrival, and they can continue their journey home - safely tucked away in a box - without risk of becoming the next dodo drumstick ð
So, if you have been looking to adopt a stray dodo bird, and don't mind a longer wait:
10 PRE-adoptions will be listed at my Zolala! Shop this Monday, October 30.
Don't miss out on this rare opportunity to have a quirky dodo waddle his way into your heart and home! ð ðĶĪ
(Dodos will travel home from mid November throughout December, on a first come, first served basis!)
We will continue introducing the newest foundlings on Instagram, where we will also share all the information about our online Adoption Day schedule!

Mostly musings and meanderings about my work as a seamstress and miniaturist, with all of the joy and struggle that comes with it.
Hello!
My name is Zo, and I'm endlessly fascinated with all things small: dolls, animals, miniatures, dioramas..
I feel very fortunate to be able to combine them all in my work!
Sewing doll clothes and bringing little critters to life allows me to do what I love every day - and connects me with some really amazing people all over the world.
