"Hello"

Different from sewing doll clothes, I obviously can't needle felt from a drafted pattern. So I use my imagination, some photos, and a standard wire frame that can actually become anything: a fawn, a pig, a goat.
After choosing the wool colors, I start with the torso and build it up from there. It is completely irrelevant how many of a certain animal I already created previously - it is always a leap in the dark, and when I'm lucky, this specific critter will somehow emerge from that.

It doesn't come easy, and I doubt it ever will. Often I'm just seriously tempted to throw everything out of the window! But if there is one thing I learned from sewing tiny clothing, it's perseverance, so I keep prodding and poking and squeezing - gritting my teeth and internally screaming - until.. all of a sudden there's this distinct glimpse of a wee face.. like a soft spoken "Hello". And that is what I chase 💕

Little Banjo here, initially did not want to cooperate.. at all. Very slowly but determined I eventually persuaded him to reveal himself. "Hello"

Mostly musings and meanderings about my work as a seamstress and miniaturist, with all of the joy and struggle that comes with it.

Hello!

My name is Zo, and I'm endlessly fascinated with all things small: dolls, animals, miniatures, dioramas..
I feel very fortunate to be able to combine them all in my work!
Sewing doll clothes and bringing little critters to life allows me to do what I love every day - and connects me with some really amazing people all over the world.
