A Studio Stampede
We are so proud and excited to introduce this very special bunch of protégés, all prepared to take the world by storm and stampede right into the hearts of everyone π₯°
~ Barley
He might be tiny, and that 'ferocious grin' still all baby teeth - but Barley is very much aware of his superior position in the pack order. After all, he IS a Tyrannosaurus Rex and destined to grow up into a lethal predator.. eventually! π¦ So naturally, the other Strays most graciously granted him to take the first turn in the spotlight π
Despite his fierce looks, Barley loves to play fetch, hide-and-seek, and pouncing on anything that moves π₯°
~ Alfalfa
Typically one of those cute long neck critters that look like all they need is a gentle cuddle and a lollipop. But don't let that sweet face and pastel blue coat fool you! Alfalfa is a tough little Apatosaurus (not Brontosaurus, and not to be confused with Brachiosaurus or Diplodocus either π
) - and she likes you to know that she prefers a good rough belly rub instead π π¦ Oh, and cookies. Lots of cookies. πͺπͺπͺ
~ Sassafras
Unlike Alfalfa, handsome Sassafras here is most certainly a Brachiosaurus π π¦ The other Strays love to tease him a bit - calling him 'high-nosed', 'hammer head' or 'landing strip'.. But this good-natured sauropod doesn't mind: he always gets chosen first for soccer games, and his team always wins π π
~ Perilla
This sweet girl is a Triceratops; a personal dino favorite π₯° Perilla loves big frilly collars, always eats her veggies, and is a bit of everybody's darling. But she is a smart cookie, too, and picks things up real quick. βοΈ Her motto? "In a world full of Unicorns, be a Triceratops!"
~ Woodruff
Now here's a sight to behold: our Parasaurolophus sure takes the spotlight, too, with his fancy head crest and striking back markings. Woodruff loves π€Ώ snorkeling, is a talented πΊ brass player (jazz, swing), and not to toot his own horn, but his dance skills are out of this world, too! πΆ
~ Hyssop
Would you feel safe being followed by a Pterodactylus? (asking for a friend..) ~
This intriguing winged creature landed on the window sill outside the kitchen, fluttering and hysterically hopping up and down to catch our attention π The tiny living kite πͺ is (yet) too small to fly very well, but what he lacks in size and wing span, he sure makes up for in enthusiasm π
~ Turmeric
Did you know that, despite all the fierce looking plates and spikes and bells and whistles, Stegosaurus is actually one of the friendliest dinosaurs? π Our sweet boy here is no exception - and though Stegosauria are generally labeled as not exactly the sharpest tools in the box, this miniature gentle giant passed our house-training and behavioral classes with flying colors ππ and now proudly wears his membership scarf!
We will continue introducing the newest foundlings on Instagram, where we will also share all the information about our online Adoption Day schedule!
Zolala! Blog
Mostly musings and meanderings about my work as a seamstress and miniaturist, with all of the joy and struggle that comes with it.
Hello!
My name is Zo, and I'm endlessly fascinated with all things small: dolls, animals, miniatures, dioramas..
I feel very fortunate to be able to combine them all in my work!
Sewing doll clothes and bringing little critters to life allows me to do what I love every day - and connects me with some really amazing people all over the world.
