Double trouble

On my desk today: โ€˜Catkins and the 10 cat-clonesโ€™ ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜‹
The "Vagabond Strays" usually start their life journey like this: as basic shapes with rudimentary features in natural shades of core wool (here in white, ivory, gray, and that little dark blob on the far right is black).

I have to admit that making a whole bunch of identical critters at once is not my most favorite thing to do (however I surely got that !$&%* cat shape mastered by now ๐Ÿ˜‚) .. but the joy comes with the details.
So much individual character can emerge from each simple mold! It's like painting a portrait on a tiny blank canvas - but one that already has a mind of its own from the very beginning. Always exciting because I can't foresee 'who' is going to come out in the end.

So in the next few weeks I will be coloring in, and getting to know, all these miniature munchkins one by one, and let them choose a name so I can introduce them to you ๐Ÿ’•

Mostly musings and meanderings about my work as a seamstress and miniaturist, with all of the joy and struggle that comes with it.

Hello!

My name is Zo, and I'm endlessly fascinated with all things small: dolls, animals, miniatures, dioramas..
I feel very fortunate to be able to combine them all in my work!
Sewing doll clothes and bringing little critters to life allows me to do what I love every day - and connects me with some really amazing people all over the world.
